Poetry reading conjures up beauty of languages

Recently I attended UW-Eau Claire's fifth annual International Poetry Reading at Davies Center, hosted by the university's English Festival. More than 50 readers, singers and interpreters recited poems in 39 ancient and modern languages, from American Sign Language to Arabic, Old Norse to Russian, Haitian Creole to Vietnamese.
