High-tech system saves money for court, miles for translators

Chief Judge Belvin Perry, in an effort to relieve financial stress on the court and improve services, spearheaded the installation of a high-tech interpreter system — the first in the state — that simultaneously connects interpreters across 67 courtrooms through a network of flat-screens, high definition cameras and fiber-optic lines.
