Eriksson: Belarusians Not Used to Hearing Belarusian Language
Most often I use Belarusian in cafes and shops. In Belarus, people are not used to hearing their native language in such situations. Sometimes, the first reaction is surprise. Despite the fact that people understand all the words, it’s still unexpected for the waiter to be asked for "rahunak" or "garbata," for example. However, when I repeat, they got the point.
